About the recycling centre

Can I drop off waste outside opening hours?

Which guidelines apply at the recycling centre?

You can find the 9 simple recycling guidelines here.

Why can't I take waste out of the containers?

ARGO's owner municipalities pay us to receive and forward waste for recycling. We are therefore not allowed to just pass on the waste. But in our Gensalg stores, you can find some of the useful items that others have donated for recycling.

When is Gensalg open?

Our three second-hand stores Gensalg at Køge, Roskilde and Torkilstrup recycling centres are open Thursday from 9:00 to 15:00 and Friday-Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00. Read about the shops here.

About waste and sorting

What can I drop off?

At the recycling centre you can drop off all your waste except food waste and residual waste, which is collected at your address when your waste containers are emptied.

Hazardous waste and potentially asbestos-containing waste must be disposed of according to the instructions in our sorting guide. The same goes for all other waste. Both for your own safety and the safety of others, and to ensure that as much waste as possible is reused or recycled.

Why should I use clear bags for my waste?

Clear sacks provide even better sorting at the recycling centre, as both you and we can easily see the contents. This way, together we can ensure that as much waste as possible is reused or recycled.

Remember to take the empty plastic bags home so you can use them again. Or drop them off in the plastic container at the site.

About vehicles and fees

Which vehicles are allowed on the site?

All vehicles with a maximum weight of 3,500kg are allowed to enter our recycling centres - trailers do not count towards the total weight.

My car has yellow plates, do I have to pay to enter?

Vehicles owned by companies are generally charged for entering our recycling centres.

If you drop off private waste in a car with yellow plates, you don't have to pay. Contact us when you arrive at the site and we'll make sure you avoid a fee.

I have rented a car with yellow plates, do I have to pay to enter the recycling centre?

If you have rented a car with yellow plates, you can avoid paying for your private waste by showing us the lease contract and the waste you want to deliver.

If you use the recycling centre under the 24/7 service, please send the lease contract to erhverv@argo.dk instead , stating that you want to avoid an invoice.
