Welcome to Gensalg
Would you like to help extend the life of our fine reusable goods, save our climate from tonnes of CO2 emissions, and at the same time help people on the edge of the labour market? Welcome to Gensalg.
Where can I find you?
We have a second-hand store at the recycling centre in Roskilde and another at the recycling centre in Køge. Both stores are open on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Gensalg does NOT have the same opening hours as our recycling centres.
What can I buy or donate?
At our second-hand store, you can find unique items for yourself, your home, or someone you care about. We receive new items in our stores every day.
The goods come from you or others who have donated usable items for reuse at our recycling centres. Look for the reuse area "under the canopy" at the recycling centre. Here you can drop off usable items that others can enjoy, instead of sending them for recycling or energy recovery.
For example, you can buy or donate:
- Furniture
- Lamps
- Mirrors
- Paintings
- Knick-knacks
- Ceramics
- Kitchen utensils
- Electronics
- Books
- DVDs, CDs and LPs
- Clothing, shoes and bags
- Toys
- Baby and children's equipment
- Bicycles
- Garden furniture
If you have useful items that aren't on the list, ask us if we will accept them the next time we meet at the recycling centre.
What do I support?
Gensalg a non-profit organization that does not aim to generate a financial profit. When you donate and buy items at Gensalg, you are supporting people, society, the environment, and climate.
Gensalg brings people who are far from the labour market to a job and creates meaning and joy in the everyday lives of our stqaff and customers. We have employees in flexible jobs, part-time jobs, and other different programmes, such as company internships, language internships, job trials, and STU programmes (specially designed education for young people with special needs). In addition, Gensalg collaborates with several municipal workshops, which are typically for people with special challenges.
