6,175 visitors to ARGO's school service in 2024
Once again this year, ARGO's school service has provided thousands of curious visitors with new knowledge about waste prevention. 6,175 visitors have gained insight into recycling and waste sorting in 2024.
Around 4,000 children, young people and adults have explored the Energy Tower, while almost 2,000 have visited one of ARGO's 14 recycling centres.
- When school classes visit the Energy Tower, students connect the theoretical knowledge they have at home from the classroom to practical reality. Most are amazed by the amount of waste in the pit, and they are impressed when they look into the flames, says ARGO's Learning Consultant, Trine Thingsgaard.
Waste hierarchy, recycling and sorting
In the school service, our teachers have given children, young people and adults insight into the waste hierarchy, waste sorting and the challenges that can come with it. At the same time, the importance of reusing everything that can be reused also takes centre stage.
Visitors also gained insight into how we utilize residual waste to produce district heating and electricity. All through exciting and practical communication.
New courses and facilities
ARGO educators have also used 2024 to develop and test new educational programmes, targeted at each level in the schools. The courses are now in operation and receiving very positive feedback from visitors.
At the same time, we have now opened our new classrooms at the Energy Tower. The rooms are furnished with reused and recycled materials.
