With strong support from the owners and a successful board approval on December 10, 2024, ARGO's limited liability company formation is now in place. ARGO is now ready for the competitive tendering of the Danish waste-to-energy sector, which comes into effect on January 1, 2025.

ARGO works to ensure that as much waste as possible is reused and recycled. This is done through Direct Reuse and by sending as much waste as possible for recycling. Waste that cannot be recycled is converted into district heating and electricity so that as little waste as possible is sent to landfill.
The establishment of the limited liability company is due to a broad majority in the Danish Parliament in June 2020 entering into a political agreement that significantly changes a number of key framework conditions for the waste sector in the coming years. According to the follow-up legislation, waste and energy companies such as ARGO must incorporate waste-to-energy plants and expose them to competition by January 1, 2025. Changes that have been called a historic transformation of the waste sector.
The company model for ARGO means that new companies have now been established in the ARGO Group, including operating companies for ARGO's waste-to-energy plant and ARGO's recycling centres. The new companies and their CVR numbers are as follows:
