Therefore, ARGO strongly agrees with Dansk Fjernvarme that we must:
- Revisit the 2020 climate agreements and tighten targets to speed up the natural gas phase-out and green investments.
- Prioritize biogas for peak load and keep incentives for electricity production at CHP plants.
- Adjust the framework conditions so that both individual heating and district heating production can become fossil-free
- Abolish the current waste and district heating tax system and replace it with CO2 taxation
- Raise the ambition for carbon capture and make it attractive to invest in.
- Creating clarity for the future of district heating production: New regulation must be in place quickly.
- Harness the potential of waste energy and let's find a model that secures the supply of electricity and heat for the benefit of the economy, consumer prices and the climate.
