Record number of visitors at the recycling centres
1,560,757 visitors in 2024.
A record number of people visited our recycling centres in 2024.
With 30,600 more visitors in 2024, the year surpasses the previous record year 2021 during Corona.
- I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have visited the sites and made a difference by disposing of waste correctly and responsibly. Every single effort contributes to our common ambition for a greener future," says Recycling Manager Finn Kjær.
New Direct Reuse tents may be part of the explanation
In 2021, the record number of visitors was due to the fact that much of society was shut down and most of us had plenty of time for home and summer house projects. As a result, we also generated more waste for the recycling centres.
When 2024 surpasses the previous record, part of the explanation may be the new Direct Reuse tents that have opened at seven of ARGO's recycling centres since the summer. Here, private individuals, companies, organizations and associations can donate or pick up reusable items.
- We are experiencing more visitors who come without the purpose of dropping off waste, but who only drive to the recycling centre to visit our Direct Reuse tents or our Gensalg stores, says Recycling Manager Finn Kjær.
