A record number of items got new owners at the opening party in Køge
As many as 508 items got new owners when ARGO and Køge Municipality opened another big tent where you can give or pick up reusable items on Saturday, March 22. This time at the recycling centre in Køge.
- The great turnout for the opening parties of Direct Reuse in Køge clearly shows the great interest there is out there to recycle more, which is something we at ARGO are very happy about, says Recycling Manager Finn Kjær.
Big turnout at the party
Many guests turned up when ARGO board member Jonas Bjørn Whitehorn and First Deputy Mayor Ken Kristensen gave opening speeches and cut the red ribbon. With big smiles, the guests entered the tent to find great second-hand finds to take home.
- Together with ARGO, we have worked to create a great solution where individuals, companies and voluntary organizations can donate and find reusable items for free. But success depends on all of us. We need to help each other keep the area organized, put things on the right shelves and use the "Direct Reuse" app so we can keep track of how much we actually save from being thrown out, says First Deputy Mayor Ken Kristensen.
Nine recycling centres now have Direct Reuse
With the opening party at Køge recycling centre this weekend, Kalundborg, Køge, Roskilde and Stevns Municipalities have now established the concept at several of their recycling centres.
Direct Reuse is located at Bjæverskov, Hårlev, Jyllinge, Kalundborg, Køge, Roskilde, Store Heddinge, Ubby and Viby recycling centres.
