We turn Black Friday into Green Friday
With 50 percent off everything in our three Gensalg stores, we're doing away with the consumer festival "Black Friday" on November 24 and instead invite you to "Green Friday".
DKK 3.4 billion in one day. That's how much money the Confederation of Danish Industry expects Danes to spend on Black Friday deals on Friday, November 24. In other words, on things that have a large carbon footprint when they are produced and that we might as well buy second-hand instead.
At ARGO, we want to provide a green alternative to this consumerism.
We are holding Green Friday in the hope that we can help replace the purchase of newly produced CO2 emitting things with the purchase of good things that already exist. By shopping in our Gensalg stores, you are helping to extend the life of things and prevent the production of new ones. Not only on November 24, but also throughout the year.
Finn Kjær, Recycling Manager in ARGO
With Green Friday, our three Gensalg stores in Køge, Roskilde and Torkilstrup offer 50 percent off everything on Friday, November 24. On clothes, shoes, furniture and electronics, furniture, cookware, toys and baby equipment.
It means a lot to me that I also save CO2. There's no need to buy new when you can buy good things in thrift stores. The things were produced once, so it's good that they can be used again.
Nikoline Jørgensen, Reseller customer
Green Friday is from 10:00 to 17:00 in the Gensalg shops in Køge, Roskilde and Torkilstrup. The Red Cross, Save the Children and the Danish Church Aid are also participating and also have 50 percent in their second-hand shops in Roskilde.
