7 tips for a great trip to the recycling centre
We want you to have a great experience every time you visit a recycling centre, so here are 7 tips to make your visit faster and easier.
1. Check out our sorting guide
Are you unsure about your waste? In our sorting guide , you can easily look up the waste you're unsure about and get answers on how to sort it - and which container to put it in.
2. Sort your waste from home
Do you want to avoid unnecessary driving between our containers? Then sort your waste from home into the categories it belongs to. That way, you can easily deliver your waste to the right containers.
3. Pack your waste in clear bags
You must pack your waste in clear bags. That way you can quickly see where it goes when you drop it off - and we can better help you if you're unsure about anything.
4. Check if your waste needs special packaging
Some waste needs to be packed specially. If you have not packed your waste correctly, we have to ask you to take it away again. Both for your own safety and the safety of others. But also to ensure that the waste can be recycled.
This applies, for example, to both textile waste and asbestos-containing waste:
- Textile waste must be dry and packed in a tightly sealed bag
- Asbestos-containing waste must be moistened and packed in two layers of dense, closed and clear plastic
If you are unsure about something, you can look it up in our sorting guide.
5. See when it's busiest
Do you want to go to the recycling centre when it's least crowded? Then you may want to check when your particular centre is busiest. Get an overview under "Addresses and opening hours".
6. Bring a helper
Can't lift your waste into the container yourself? Bring a helper. Because for the sake of our working environment, you must lift your waste into the containers yourself.
7. Feel free to ask us
If you're still unsure about something when you arrive, please ask us. That way, together we can ensure that as much waste as possible is reused and recycled.
